Product
OKX is a centralized exchange launched in 2013 (then as Okcoin). As of December 2025 it is listed as #4 on both Coinmarketcap and Coingecko, with daily volume about the same as Coinbase and Bybit.
They also run their own chain, “X LAYER”, launched in April 2024. The concept is similar to Binance’s BSC. X LAYER is a ZK-based EVM-compatible L2, built on Polygon CDK.
OKX was originally launched in Hong Kong. In April 2025 they relaunched in the US, and moved their HQ to San Jose.

Token
Token $OKB is the utility token for OKX, and the native token for X LAYER.
Initially launched with a max supply of 1B, in August 2025 they announced a reduction in supply, hard-capping it to 21M $OKB.
OKX has done regular buyback and burns. Unclear if they will keep doing them after the 21M hardcap. The latest one was in June 2025.
Team
Running one of the world’s largest crypto exchanges, surviving from 2013, they obviously know what they’re doing.
